Welcome to the latest news from McRae’s Sales, Lettings & Management.
If you go down to the Park (Highams Park) today, you’re sure of a little surprise… The latest “des res” to feature in the McRae’s office window is a bit unusual. It’s a shell, housing a tortoise – called Albert.
COMMUNITY
Let us explain… As part of our ongoing commitment to the community and helping local enterprise, business, initiatives and events, we’re delighted to welcome Albert The Tortoise to our window display to help promote the first in an exciting new series of children’s picturebooks from local TV writer, producer turned author Ian Brown.
SOLVING PROPERTY ISSUES
However, Albert has a property problem. He’s overstretched himself and ended up on his back and Upside Down.
While we at McRae’s pride ourselves on helping solve all our clients’ property issues, we might leave this one to the garden creatures who come to Albert’s aid.
The story has themes of kindness, teamwork, helping others – literally helping others get back on their feet.
SUPPORT LOCAL
As we emerge from lockdown, these are all topics we at McRae’s are keen to support in the area. We urge you to support local business and local eateries and shops.
Albert Upside Down is available to buy from our near neighbour in The Avenue, V and A Books.
The book series is based on a real tortoise – and Highams Park resident – also called Albert.
Ian Brown says: “Albert’s shell is almost the ideal property solution – except when things go a bit wrong. It seems to sit well with all the other featured properties in the McRae’s window.”
Managing Director of McRae’s, Craig McRae says: “Albert has only just appeared in our window and he’s already proving popular with little ones, while older visitors look at all our other properties on display. A most welcome addition.”
